Yeeeeeeeeeeah I’m going to have trouble liking this show without Scully. I really want her back already and it’s only been one episode. This was the weakest one of the season so far, breaking the otherwise excellent streak. I don’t get it at all, and I found Mulder’s chemistry with Kristen weak at best. I spent most of their interactions rolling my eyes and wishing the episode would be over again. This recap might be short because I really didn’t care much for this one. Sorry!

Mulder’s still upset about Scully’s disappearance, rightfully so, but now the X-Files are opened so he has to do something. He’s called into a murder scene with a guy who had his blood drained from him. We see early on in the episode he’s attacked by a few people in the hot tub. Clearly they’re supposed to be vampires. They’ve killed a good number of people by now and use the blood to write Bible verses. That’s sooooo original guys. He seems to think they consider themselves an Unholy Trinity. Way to jump to conclusions, right though they may be. So he assumes there has to be three of them. He goes to a vampire club and meets Kristen, who admits to drinking blood. She’s all very I’m cool and goth about everything, and it reminds me of when everyone goes to the goth bar in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And how ridiculous they all seemed. Oh before this he does catch one of them, “The Son.” WEIRDLY the guy does burn up when the sun comes up. Hmmmmmm!

Vampires were like the only supernatural thing Mulder didn’t believe in, so he’s skeptical so far. Even with the burning. He suspects Kristen since she’s ~mysterious~ and grabs a guy for a tryst. He thinks the guy is in trouble, but he beats Mulder up for following them. He then gets killed, so that’s what you get, dude. He confronts Kristen about being everywhere the vampires are, and she’s like yup I drank their blood, it was a thing, but I ran to get away from them and they followed. Out of no where he makes out with her. Like there is no real good reason for this to happen. I don’t like it and feel like it’s a weird deviation that would’ve never happened if Scully was around. It turns out The Son didn’t die after all and he’s watching.

Kristen’s supposed to kill Mulder but she fights the other two instead. She dies saving him from the others. I don’t care at all. Next one please. Completely indifferent to this episode. There’s no real answer about what they are. Whatever.
